IREB® CPRE-EL Expert Level
In addition to the following conditions, sound knowledge and many years of practical experience are prerequisites for taking the CPRE Expert Level certification exam.
Prerequisites
1. the candidate must hold at least three CPRE Advanced Level certificates. Up to two of these certificates can be replaced by other forms e.g. university lectures clearly related to RE, certain certificates linked to other education schemes (e.g. CBAP, BCS Diploma in Business Analysis, ...) or a substential publication.
2. at least three years (full-time equivalent) experience as a Requirements Engineer in various roles and projects.
3. activity as a trainer or coach in the field of Requirements Engineering.
Examination procedure
Part 1: Written application
The written application must prove that the candidate fulfils the examination requirements (see above).
Part 2: Written assignment
The term paper must show that the candidate has in-depth knowledge in the field of requirements engineering.
Part 3: Oral examination
The oral examination is a face-to-face meeting or a video conference at a dedicated place. It lasts 90 minutes and consists of three parts:
- case (30 minutes following a two-hour preparation period).
The candidate has to present his/her proposals and thoughts on the given case. - requirements engineering questions related to the candidate's projects (30 minutes).
- general questions on requirements engineering (30 minutes).
The language for all three parts of the examination (written application, written assignment, oral examination) is English.
The examination is considered passed if all three parts are passed.
